Teaching Farming to the next Generation

At Castle Valley Farms our number one goal is to teach young people how to grow and value their own food. Our farm is in conjunction with Daystar Adventist Academy (a local boarding school). Our technique is very much “hands-on” when training. There are few moments as delightful as when a young person shows you the harvest of their own hands with a big grin on their face.

 

A Bit About Our Farm:

 

Castle Valley Farms is located about 20 miles out of Moab. A scenic drive winds along the Colorado River and ends up in beautiful Castle Valley. The 200 acres are alive with color. It is there that you will find the Castle Valley Produce Market full of fresh, organic produce.

Castle Valley Farms provides the community with the following: tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, crenshaw, honeydew, peppers, summer and winter squash, asparagus, eggplant, pumpkins, snap beans, okra, cabbage, potatoes, swiss chard, kale, black berries, raspberries, lavender, apples, peaches, plums, pears, Asian pears, apricots and cherries.

Please note: weather conditions and pests determine what fruits and vegetables will be available each year.
